Cheddar
Cheddar is situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills and is probably most well known for its famous Cheddar Cheese and also its 137m tall Gorge. With over 500,000 visitors to the village each year there is something to do for everyone.
Drive or walk down the winding, magnificent gorge into the village of Cheddar to take in the breath-taking views of the rock faces and spot the rogue Sheep nestled up high on the cliff edges!
Hike the Mendip Hills, visit the famous Gorge, try some Cheddar Cheese, have a game of crazy golf, savour afternoon tea with your friends or simply explore all that the Cheddar Valley has to offer bit by bit!
Cheddar is also famous for its strawberries often sold by the punnet at the side of the road and grown by local farmers!
